What we do
Stonework, like many other endeavors can seem daunting and maybe even magical at first glance. It at once appeals to our artistic instincts and to that urge to "build something" that lives in us all. Unfortunately in this day and age it can be difficult to find informational and training opportunities. It is for this purpose, and to serve this need that we built the Laurel Stoneworks training facility.
We partner with The Stone Trust, a non profit organization located in Dummerston Vermont to offer the curriculum of the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain, the DSWA-GB, a registered charity in the United Kingdom in operation since 1968.
Our primary focus and mission is training those interested in the age old craft of dry stone building techniques. Perhaps you need knowledge or you're looking for training. Or, maybe you simply desire to learn how stone walls can be built with seemingly nothing holding them together and they last centuries while mortared walls fail.
Whatever the reason for your interest in dry stone, we're here to help you learn the techniques and solve the riddles, so that in the next steps of your journey into the world of drystone you will build walls any artisan would be proud to call their own.
